Today I was doing some research on what words are pulling in the organic search engine listings. I found that our site World Vital Records is pulling for the words “world records”. Now obviously we have nothing on our site about world records and those words never appear without the word “vital” in the middle. Which changes everything. So according to my Omniture reports both MSN and Live.com (same system) think our site is related to world records. Search for “world records” on msn.com and we are listed as #2. But it is interesting that we are no where to be seen for this keyword on Google and Yahoo or even any of the smaller engines. Congratulations Microsoft, you get an “F” or relevancy on this search!

Microsoft may get an F, but you get an A.
Brad, I love this comment. MSN or Live.com has never really been a good search tool. I have always thought of them as a great media tool.
That is if you like busy distracting advertisements, sales content, and just pop culture in general.
Live.com was suppose to change that, well shoot… their “F”ailure has been tremendous. The money they spent, the customers / users they lost after telling everyone about their new search. Their market share for search users has just been dropping ever since people like you and me search for something and never find it.
I am curious though to see if you prefer Yahoo’s search over Google’s?
That is a good question. I have not given Yahoo a chance in a while. I use google. Especially with their new search features that includes images, videos and blog posts. I will do a google vs yahoo search test and see who comes up for the best results. Then post the results.
